In one of the most controversial matches in recent memory, Chelsea went into the final minutes of the 2nd leg 1–0 up and on course to reach the final. Barcelona by their own high standards were poor on the night having failed to register a single shot on target. Chelsea had four penalty appeals turned down, and Barcelona had to play almost half an hour with ten men. Then, with the clock timed at 92:10, Andrés Iniesta scored for Barcelona to give them the crucial away goal that sent them to the final.

#2 2012–13 UEFA Champions League quater-finals – Borussia Dortmund vs Malaga, 9 April 2013:

After a goalless draw in the first leg, Malaga travelled to Westfalenstadion to face Borussia Dortmund in the second leg of the quater finals. The game was heading into stoppage time after Eliseu had given Malaga a 2-1 lead in the 82nd minute when goals from Marco Reus & defender Felipe Santana sent Borussia Dortmund to the semi-final.

#4 2002 FIFA World Cup qualification UEFA Group 9 – England vs. Greece, 6 October 2001:

As Germany pushed for a quick equaliser, they allowed Italy to counter attack, and Alessandro Del Piero added a second to give Italy a 2–0 win and send them through the final, and eventual World Cup glory. Italy also won their first knockout-round match against Australia with a last minute penalty from Francesco Totti.

#6 2006 FA Cup Final – Liverpool vs. West Ham United, 13 May 2006:

#7 2013 FA Cup Final - Manchester City vs. Wigan Athletic, 11 May 2013:

Manchester City, in second place in the Premier League, was highly favored over Wigan, facing relegation from the League with only two games left to improve their record. The teams were tied 0-0 going in to stoppage time, but Wigan midfielder Ben Watson scored with a superb header in the 91st minute (time 90:09) to give Wigan the FA Cup trophy in a 1-0 victory over Manchester City. This game was the first time Wigan had won the FA Cup and was one of the biggest final upsets in the tournament's history.
